KJM Capital LLC has acquired privately held Charles Gantt Trucking Inc, based in Lexington SC. Chapman Associates Carolinas Group advised and negotiated the transaction on behalf of the seller. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Charles Gantt Trucking is a 40-year-old, family-owned temperature-controlled carrier with a fleet of more than 125 power units operating nationally. The firmt specializes in transporting refrigerated food products and has been recognized by its customers as a premier supplier.

KJM Capital, based in Orlando FL, focuses on lower-middle-market companies that serve business customers. The company was founded by Kenneth Meister and his partners to acquire leading companies with the objective of providing additional operational, financial, and IT support, thereby allowing management to implement growth initiatives and improve the customer experience. According to Meister, Gantt was purchased as the first of multiple acquisitions intended to build a significant presence in the temperature-controlled transportation market.

Chapman Associates, a nationwide mergers and acquisitions firm, was founded in 1954, and has successfully closed more than 2,300 transactions. It specializes in the sale of closely held corporations and corporate divestitures in the transportation and logistics industry.
