Spireon Inc has introduced FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring, its first refrigerated trailer telematics system for users that require extra precautions to safeguard perishable goods or products during climate-controlled transportation and shipping.
FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring enables users to achieve regulatory compliance for specifications outlined in the US Food and Drug Administration’s Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which includes new rules covering food transportation and distribution. Regulations include logging requirements for vehicles carrying perishable food and temperatures that must be maintained.
“For many years our customers have trusted the results of our telematics solutions and talented team, from sales to installation and on to account services,” said Kristina Lowe, director of product marketing at Spireon. “Our new reefer telematics solution is a direct result of Spireon listening to the needs of our customers and delivering a solution that will not only help achieve FSMA regulatory compliance, but also make the compliance process simple and affordable.”
FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring is delivered at a low cost, while still providing advanced features, including remote real-time temperature monitoring that doesn’t require additional action from drivers to keep track of temperature.
Required temperature history documentation and reporting are easily produced in case of an audit, with electronic, cloud-based records accessible at all times. FleetLocate Temperature Monitoring includes reliable pinpoint location of any refrigerated trailer when it is unhitched from power or detained.
