Fyffes’ ambition to optimize the scale and quality of its offering in the US and Canadian markets, has resulted in bringing the Fyffes brand to North America. The company offers the full benefits of a multi-national company to North American consumers.

“We couldn’t be more excited about bringing our experience, values, scale, and flexibility to consumers across North America,” said Jack Howell, Fyffes North America’s senior vice-president of sales.

The Fyffes brand offers both retailers and consumers another choice for their needs in tropical fruits.

“Fyffes North America will offer retailers the flexibility to pack bananas with their label of choice. This includes the Fyffes and Turbana brands as well as private label,” said Marion Tabard with Fyffes North America. “Pineapples have always been Fyffes-branded, and Turbana is an expert on plantains and ethnic tropicals, so these products will remain Turbana branded.“

The Fyffes label is already available at some retailers.

In order to deliver both quality and consistency, Fyffes sources its fruit from 12 different nations across Central and South America, and year-round supplies 56 million cases of bananas to more than 20 nations. Owning its farms and collaborating with select growers, the firm has been able to create benchmark processes for the entire fruit industry.

Fyffes was founded in Ireland back in 1888 and stands alone as the oldest fruit brand in the world. In 1929, the company became the first brand in history to put its name on bananas. Besides bananas, Fyffes North America, markets pineapples, plantains, and ethnic tropicals. Melons are marketed through Sol Group Marketing, and mushrooms are offered through Highline Produce.
