Learn what happened at McLane Co's annual National Trade Show in Orlando FL recently.

McLane Company Inc, a leading supply chain services company providing grocery and foodservice supply chain solutions, kicked off its annual National Trade Show (NTS) in Orlando FL recently.

This year’s trade show theme was “Sun, Sand and Sales” and took place September 5-6 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. Focusing on topics impacting the grocery and foodservice categories, NTS featured celebrities, guest speakers and special appearances from a variety of top global firms and organizations.

Each year, NTS brings retailers the latest in new technology and foodservice for more efficient inventory and ordering. Additionally, some of the industry’s leading manufacturers choose NTS as their national launching pad for new product lines and extensions. This year, the event showcased nearly 200 exhibitors and included more than 1,200 attendees. The all-star speaker lineup included:

•Keynote Speaker—Joe Theismann, former Washington Redskins quarterback and entrepreneur

•Deon Johnson, vice president of customer technology at McLane

•Nancy Todys, director, convenience and vending channel marketing at Tyson Foods

•Cassandra Matos, product director at McLane

•Kathy Sparrow, executive vice president of marketing and sales at ITG Brands

•Teresa Voelter, product director at McLane and general manager of Consumer Value Products (CVP)

Attendees also had an opportunity to meet former Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall of Famer Randy White, as well as NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer.

For the third year, McLane hosted an interactive foodservice booth experience under the banner of McLane Kitchen, a solution for generating optimum sales and profits for retailers.

CVP offered tradeshow-only deals, giveaways and new brand and product launches. New brand launches include the program Fly Guys Pizza, offered as a take-and-bake option for consumers in the frozen section. CVP products are available to both McLane customers and non-customers at retail locations nationwide.

At the technology booth, Deon Johnson, vice president of customer technology at McLane, was available to discuss new advancements in McLane’s powerfully simple technology offerings. The latest feature is the Mobile Virtual Trade Show (VTS) application for Apple and Android devices.
