A group of PLM Fleet employees recently turned out to support the local Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ).
PLM is headquartered in Newark, New Jersey.
CFBNJ is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries and local meal programs.
In addition to providing the volunteer workers, PLM presented a $1,000 donation to CFBNJ. The contribution will go toward supporting the 530,000 people in CFBNJ’s 15-county service area who face hunger every day, the company said. Over 130,000 are children. Last year, the food bank distributed food for over 90 million meals (more than 108 million pounds).
Over 55 PLM employees volunteered at CFBNJ’s Hillside Warehouse. Their critical support included assembling emergency food boxes, packing bulk items into family-sized bags, and sorting and repacking food items.
PLM has sent employees to the CFBNJ Hillside location to volunteer each month since last summer. The company began supporting the food bank and Feeding America in 2018.
