Arcadia Cold Storage and Logistics recently claimed an ICONic Award at the Blue Yonder ICON 2024 Conference.
The cold storage operator won in the Supply Chain Sustainability category, which recognizes companies leading the charge toward a sustainable future.
“There is a significant supply shortage in U.S. cold storage, which means that current inventory cannot service the 82% of U.S. consumers who made online grocery purchases,” Jagan Reddy, NetLogistik managing director in the U.S., said in a news release “Arcadia Cold [a NetLogistik client] is addressing the widespread shortage by constructing new best-in-class facilities on a very aggressive schedule.”
Arcadia is developing a U.S. network of cold storage facilities that use advanced technology like Blue Yonder’s WMS, TMS, Yard Management, and Labor Management, in high-demand locations, the companies reported. The new facilities are designed with energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in mind. Through innovative technologies and best practices, Arcadia reduces food waste, minimizes carbon emissions, and optimizes resource utilization throughout the supply chain.
Arcadia plans to open three “massive” cold storage facilities while building a fourth location with overlapping go-live dates. NetLogistik was brought in to help address the project’s timeline. Its implementation services team delivered go-live support requests, testing, and training. By accomplishing these tasks “quickly, thoroughly, and accurately,” Netlogistik played an instrumental role in helping Arcadia maintain timelines while focusing on improving the customer experience and meeting sustainability goals, NetLogistik said.
