Vic Maret, vice-president of strategic & OEM accounts with Thermo King Corporation, died April 7 after battling a significant respiratory condition. He was a key member of the Thermo King North America leadership team.
Since 1973, he has been connected to the transportation industry starting as an assistant service manager with Fruehauf Corporation. From 1974 to 1986, Maret worked with RTC Transportation Inc (a Thermo King customer) most recently as vice-president of maintenance, and from 1986 to 1988 he served as regional sales director for Timpte Inc. Through these positions, he became familiar with Thermo King refrigeration units and joined Thermo King as a manager of parts marketing August 15, 1988.
Maret received his degree in marketing from DeKalb College. He also served in the US Armed Forces and was associated with the US Army (active and reserves) from 1970 until his honorable discharge in 1980, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel.
He is survived by his wife Vicki and three daughters, Carrie, Kim, and Sarah.
