OSHA-compliant Dual Chain can help prevent falls from loading docks

Oct. 1, 2018
Learn about Dual Chain, a barrier made to help protect workers in a loading dock environment.

APS Resource recently expanded its product line with the addition of the Dual Chain. With fall protection being an important issue in the warehousing industry, the Dual Chain offers facilities a low-cost safety option that’s designed to comply with the necessary Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Consisting of two high-visibility yellow security chains made of powdercoated steel, the Dual Chain is anchored in aluminum rings from opposite sides of the loading dock door frame. The chains are then stretched across the loading dock and secured into their corresponding receivers by pre-attached turnbuckles. This product is manually operated and comes in lengths that accommodate door sizes of 8, 9 and 10 feet.

“Some of the largest changes to OSHA’s fall protection guidelines came in 2017, and we’ve seen that carry into 2018,” said Mark Smith, APS Resource aftermarket sales manager. “The Dual Chain is an easy-to-use, easy-to-install barrier made to help protect workers in a loading dock environment.”

With product solutions like the Dual Chain, workers can have the peace of mind that they’re being protected by products that meet the proper safety requirements.

APS Resource was founded to support the material handling distribution network’s efforts in providing quality maintenance and repair service to its customers. Since then, the firm has added its own line of products to upgrade your existing equipment and to enhance the safety and energy efficiency of your loading dock and warehouse.
