Globe Tracker recently outfitted the refrigerated trailer fleet of Southwest Dedicated Transport with its IOT devices.

Globe Tracker, which specializes in IoT tracking and monitoring solutions for logistics assets, recently outfitted the refrigerated trailer fleet of Oklahoma-based carrier Southwest Dedicated Transport with its IOT devices.

The sales win is only the latest for the growing company, which also recently announced the deployment of its reefer solutions with three large maritime shipping lines, including Samskip, a global logistics company offering multimodal transport.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Southwest Dedicated Transport for their temperature monitoring needs,” said John Harnett, senior director for marine and intermodal solutions at Globe Tracker.

“Our solution incorporates the latest in IoT solutions that allows for robust wireless communications within the trailer. Southwest Dedicated Transport is an early adopter, but we feel the value proposition is very strong for small to medium-sized carriers looking to adopt a high level of technology at very reasonable cost.”

Globe Tracker’s GT Sense provides information on reefer power, and internal temperature, humidity, light and barometric pressure inside the cargo area, the company said. GT Sense devices also have wireless sensors that can be placed on trailer walls, in pallet or at box level, detecting many parameters, including infrared proximity door open events.

“We are extremely pleased with the robustness of Globe Tracker’s technology for our reefer trailers,” said Kirk Baker, vice president of Southwest Dedicated Transport. “The value it offers along with the visibility, cargo level sensors and alarms puts us at the leading edge of technology so we can compete against larger carriers.”

Samskip also selected the GT sense for monitoring its reefers across land, sea, rail and air.

“Samskip is an innovative company and we are very pleased with their decision to deploy our technology on their reefers” said Don Miller, vice president of sales and marketing at Globe Tracker.

Added Danny De Koning, technical manager at Samskip: “We have been evaluating the Globe Tracker solution for some time and we are very happy with their technology, level of innovation and customer focus.”
