Speakers

As one of the co-founders of Coretex, Dean joined the EROAD team following the acquisition in 2021. With a strong automotive background, Dean brings a wealth of knowledge in this area. He was the President and founding member of International Telematics in New Zealand before his role as EVP of Sales and Distribution in North America for Coretex. Dean holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Marketing and Economics and is a recent graduate from the Harvard Business School of Analytics and Data Science graduating with distinction. With established skills in telematics, coupled with significant business and analytics knowledge and experience, Dean is a key member of EROAD’s North American leadership team.

Craig was the Executive Vice President of Mixed Fleets in North America. He is one of the Co-founders of Coretex and launched the North American Operations in 2006. Craig has been instrumental in establishing the distributor network, launching the compliance solution in 2009, and leading the direct sales growth for Coretex. This new role allows Craig to capitalize on his keen interest in climate change data science and apply this to help fleets navigate their transitions effectively to more sustainable operations. Craig has a double degree in Marketing and Economics from Otago University and is a recent graduate from the Harvard Business School of Analytics, graduating with distinction.

Dr. Abhijit Sarkar is a Senior Research Associate in the Division of Data & Analytics at VTTI. He received his doctoral degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech in 2017. His doctoral research focused on the remote measurement of cardiac signals and their application in biometric and cognitive behavior monitoring. His research has also focused on computer vision for object detection and the extraction of vital signals from video data. Dr. Sarkar has contributed to several projects related to driver distraction and attention monitoring, vehicle-to-vehicle connectivity, data watermarking, and heavy vehicles. In general, his expertise includes statistical data analysis, statistical modeling, computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, signal processing, and affective computing. Dr. Sarkar has over 10 years of software development experience in both academia and industry.

As a defense attorney specializing in the trucking industry and a CDL holder, Marcello has extensive experience in helping fleets mitigate and manage risk. Currently, he is a shareholder with the law firm Saxton & Stump and chief legal officer of Bluewire. He has represented trucking clients across the country, having been specially admitted for cases in 35 states. Marcello received the 2018 Leadership Award of the ATA Safety Council. He has served on the advisory board of the American Trucking Research Institute. Marcello is a member of numerous trucking organizations, including a board member of the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association and a member of the American Trucking Association Safety Council as well as trucking law organizations including TIDA and Transportation Lawyers.
