GPS fleet tracking services solution provider Wireless Matrix Corp. has reached agreement to acquire certain assets of SkyGuard, LLC.

SkyGuard, based in Flowood, MS, provides fleet management systems, including wireless technology and vehicle security products. It has approximately 15,000 subscribers, Wireless Matrix said.

“This acquisition grows our enterprise subscriber base in new industry markets and boosts our product roadmap, while providing our customers with access to great innovations in SkyGuard’s feature set that will help support their business goals,” said J.Richard Carlson, president & CEO of Wireless Matrix. “Additionally, it uniquely positions us for continued growth, specifically in the utility sector, the construction vertical and the SMB market. With a proven track record of quickly building market share once we penetrate a vertical, we look forward to providing the full breadth of benefits in FleetOutlook to new markets and businesses that rely on their service fleets to support their core business operations.”

FleetOutlook is Wireless Matrix’s signature offering. The acquisition will allow for the introduction of new features into the product, including asset tracking with theft alerts, state fuel tax reports and adherence to posted speed limits, the company said.

SkyGuard customers will have a seamless transition to the FleetOutlook platform and gain access to Wireless Matrix’s enterprise-class features and functionality. These include customizable dashboards, an industry-leading, configurable reports platform,Open Partner Interface (OPI), TechConnect, TechDirect, ongoing upgrades, and services such as training and support.
