Working with StarTrak Systems, SkyBitz has developed a remote refrigeration control for its satellite-based trailer tracking technology
NASSAU, BAHAMAS. Working with StarTrak Systems, SkyBitz has developed a remote refrigeration control for its satellite-based trailer tracking technology. The new SkyBitz Reefer Control Solution – announced at the Truckload Carriers Assn. annual meeting here this week – will let fleets monitor, manage and control trailer reefer units remotely from any PC with an Internet connection, according to the company.
Fleets can use the new system to monitor reefer temperatures and conditions as well as change temperature set-points, clear alarms and perform other functions remotely in real-time, according to SkyBitz.
The new offering connects StarTrak’s ReeferTrak module to the SkyBitz GLS 210 mobile terminal, providing two-way communications with reefer unit controls as well as trailer tracking and monitoring. Both units draw powers from the reefer unit, although the mobile terminal also retains its battery for backup power.
