Accellos buys management-solution company

Accellos, a provider of supply chain software solutions, has acquired the assets of Virtual Dispatch. Terms were not disclosed. Based in Staufvillle, ON,Virtual Dispatch offers both on-site and on-demand transportation management solutions.

Accellos said it will integrate the assets into its emerging Stratus cloud computing portfolio. “We believe strongly that cloud-based solutions for brokers, shippers and carriers will define the next generation of transportation management systems,” said Ross Elliott, Accellos CTO.

“We’ve built our Stratus cloud infrastructure on Microsoft standards like Silverlight and Azure in order to position ourselves and our customers to take advantage of the coming wave,” he added. “With the Virtual Dispatch acquisition, we can meld that infrastructure with their SaaS products to deliver unparalleled value and begin to realize the potential of cloud computing.”
