The fleet management system TruckMate for Windows (TM4Win) has added a new feature to help fleets manage document requirements for the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) border-crossing program, according to developer Maddocks Systems Inc.
Designed to speed up cross border clearances, ACE requires that an e-manifest be submitted through a web-based secure data portal or by approved EDI document before a truck reaches a national border. An electronic release from Customs is also required to release shipments headed into the U.S.
TM4Win can now use detailed shipment information already captured by the application to create and submit the required EDI documentation, according to Maddocks. www.maddockssystems.com
