TMW Systems has announced the release of OnRoute, an application that runs on the Qualcomm Mobility Services for Transportation platform using Sprint’s Nextel National Network. OnRoute combines the dispatch-centered capabilities of D²Link with Qualcomm’s data security and message management features.
The OnRoute communications solution is both cost effective and easy-to-deploy, the software maker said. It leverages GPS-based wireless phones running Java to help the driver efficiently communicate trip details and integrate load assignments and vehicle location tracking with company operations. All dispatch-to-driver communications are triggered from the dispatcher’s workstation.
OnRoute is available by subscription on some Nextel handsets and combined with Sprint data and voice services.
“This solution is perfect for almost any trucking company,” said David Wrangler, TMW Systems president & CEO. “Companies already using mobile communications can easily add OnRoute to cover those portions of their fleets where conventional in-cab systems are not cost-justified. Others can adopt this well-integrated solution with low up-front investment.
OnRoute will be available on April 2.
