Spireon, Sprint team up for transportation solution

March 11, 2014

Spireon and Sprint have joined forces to ensure fleets using Spireon’s FleetLocate mobile resource management solutions have access to the products across the Sprint network.

FleetLocate solutions enable companies to maximize productivity, improve operational efficiencies and improve the bottom line through more effective management of assets, trailers and service fleets, Spireon said. With the solutions, fleet and logistics managers can remotely monitor vehicles, trailers and assets using Spireon’s GPS tracking and telematics capabilities, including state-of-the-art, patented GPS devices.

This collaboration combines MRM technology, wireless connectivity and industry expertise to help managers keep tabs on fleet vehicles and other assets, improve asset usage, and reduce loss and theft.

Under the agreement, Sprint business sales teams will offer Spireon’s FleetLocate solutions. The arrangement also allows customers to include FleetLocate services on their Sprint bills, further simplifying the offering.

Among the Spireon offerings available are FleetLocate for Local Fleets and FleetLocate for Asset and Trailer Intelligence.

FleetLocate for Local Fleets offers managers of small- and medium-sized business service fleets the ability to monitor location and performance of vehicles and other assets remotely via computer, tablet or handset to help dispatch and deploy most effectively.

FleetLocate for Asset and Trailer Intelligence provides fleet managers and yard supervisors rich data and actionable information about the location and use of their trailers and helping to maximize assets and overall logistics operations.

According to Spireon, users of both solutions can gain the following benefits:

  • Managers and dispatchers have real-time visibility into location and performance of their fleets
  • A diverse set of affordable and easy-to-use tracking and exception reporting options  is available
  • Users have the ability to identify and avoid potential delivery delays
  • Users can reduce fuel consumption, loss and theft
  • There is increased potential to quickly recover stolen vehicles
  • Users can increase turns and improve asset usage

“We are excited about the possibilities that this strategic agreement between Sprint and Spireon offers to our companies and to the marketplace,” says Mohamad Nasser, director of M2M Product, Platforms & Marketing for Sprint. “Spireon is a recognized leader in MRM, delivering powerful solutions with actionable data all wrapped in a simple package with a unique focus on helping customers realize their maximum ROI.”

“We are honored to be selected by Sprint as a preferred supplier, and are pleased to be working with the wireless leader to connect their customers to rich data translated as actionable business intelligence,” said Brad Jarvis, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Products for Spireon. “This alliance is a win for everyone, especially Sprint customers, who will see significant competitive advantages that come with being able to capture and leverage a wealth of data in real time.”
