Telogis opens world R&D center in New Zealand

Nov. 19, 2014

New Zealand’s Prime Minister, John Key, did the ribbon-cutting honors at an official dedication ceremony for Telogis’ expanded world research and development center in Christchurch, New Zealand earlier this month. New Zealand’s 3News television covered the event, noting that the expanded facility will mean a doubling of staff—from 150 to 300.

A virtual live link “portal” from the New Zealand facility to the Telogis headquarters in California got its fair share of the media limelight. The oval-shaped portal looks like a nearly full-length mirror, but instead of seeing your own reflection, the mirror affords a real-time view of Telogis people in California. Not exactly time-travel yet, but it looks like the next best thing.

Others on hand for the ceremony included Ralph Mason of Christchurch, company co-founder; David Cozzens, California-based Telogis CEO; and Krys Grondorf, vice president corporate communications; along with board member Dr. Howard Jelinek and Judith Jelinek.
