Dave Halsema joins MacroPoint

July 10, 2015

MacroPoint, creators of patented freight tracking software designed to give third party visibility into load status, announced that Dave Halsema has joined the company as its new vice president.

According to the company, Halsema brings “extensive” freight brokerage experience, serving most recently as vice president of sales operations at Total Quality Logistics.

“Dave knows the challenges that brokers and shippers face and has the experience to provide best in class solutions to our customers,” said Bennett Adelson, president. “He joins our growing team of highly experienced professionals to implement best practices for our customers and prospects. Halsema has what it takes to help our expanding customer base realize a rapid and significant return on investment from using MacroPoint's patented technology for supply chain visibility.”

At Total Quality Logistics, Halsema was responsible for preparing and implementing a sales operations strategy, and for managing and leading sales operations and support functions, according to MacroPoint. Prior to his role at Total Quality Logistics, Halsema served at AT&T and Hearst Communications in senior sales leadership positions and worked on projects that focused on the integration of emerging technologies that drive ROI for companies.

Activated from a driver’s mobile phone, including flip phones, or existing in-cab ELD/GPS devices, MacroPoint’s patented location tracking software gives third parties load status and location visibility on their shipments, the company said. With MacroPoint, brokers, 3PLs and shippers have the same real-time location tracking, on-time delivery monitoring, and arrival and departure notifications that GPS-enabled carriers have been utilizing for over two decades, MacroPoint said.
