FleetOutlook tracking software updated

May 31, 2013

FleetOutlook 7.5 has been released by CalAmp Corp. The latest version of the company’s fleet tracking service includes the new MobileNAV app, new alerts and new schedule management capabilities.

These new features help to maintain the integrity of driver-to-vehicle assignments and enable managers to run their fleets more efficiently, CalAmp said.

FleetOutlook’s MobileNAV app combines real-time dispatching and messaging with remote administration of driver-to-vehicle assignments. Designed for the mobile worker, the app’s main components assist drivers in productively carrying out their work assignments.

Features of MobileNAV include the ability to dispatch drivers in real-time, manage driver-to-vehicle assignments remotely, monitor a driver’s jobs, and communicate in real-time.

MobileNAV is available on smartphones and tablets operating on the Android 4.0 platform. The application is available as a free download in Google Play for all FleetOutlook customers.

New alerts include unassigned vehicle alert, which ensures the integrity of driver-to-vehicle assignments for reporting purposes, CalAmp said. This alert triggers once every 24 hours when any vehicle travels a distance of one mile, but does not have an assigned driver in FleetOutlook. This alert allows a dispatcher to quickly view the unassigned vehicle and assign a driver.

Customers currently using TechConnect to communicate with drivers now have the ability to view the driver workday in FleetOutlook’s TechDirect module. TechDirect is a workday visualization tool that provides a map and a timeline so managers can monitor their entire team on a single screen as they progress throughout the day.

In addition, TechDirect now enables users to define work order radius by zip code.

“The release of 7.5 introduces our newest app, MobileNAV, to the FleetOutlook community,” said Brian Moran, CalAmp’s vice president of product management. “MobileNAV is the first of its kind in the industry and puts efficiency at a driver’s fingertips. Additional features in this release address specific customer requests, which is one of our highest priorities in establishing the product development roadmap.”
