ACT Expo producer acquired by utility infrastructure firm

GNA, which assembles the largest clean transportation show in North America and helps fleets plan out decarbonization strategies, was acquired by TRC Cos., a global electric utility and infrastructure solutions firm based in Connecticut.

TRC Cos. has acquired Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, the North American fleet consulting firm specializing in low- and zero-emission transportation technologies that produces the popular Advanced Clean Transportation Expo.

GNA has managed the design and development of more clean fleet deployment projects than any other company in North America over the past 30 years, according to a joint press release. GNA's Funding 360 product has helped fleets track, apply for, and secure more than $1 billion in incentives for clean commercial vehicles and infrastructure. The firm’s annual State of Sustainable Fleets Market Brief is one of the most in-depth looks at how the U.S. commercial trucking and transportation space is addressing decarbonization pushes from both inside and outside the industry.

Connecticut-based TRC has 7,000 employees worldwide and supports electric utility companies with infrastructure such as substations and transmission. This adds capabilities to the transition to electric fleets with resources to help utilities address the enormous power demand of EV trucks and fleet charging depots.

“GNA’s unmatched sustainable transportation expertise, combined with TRC’s experience with developing energy supply and delivery systems, expands our climate solutions offering and helps us accelerate the zero-emission vehicle transition,” said Christopher Vincze, chairman and CEO of TRC. “Together, we bring new capabilities and broader support to our clients and utility partners as they address the challenges of fleet electrification.”  

The acquisition is already having an impact, according to GNA, which is hiring more grant writers to help fleet clients apply for clean truck incentives and funding. TRC also picks up what has become the largest clean transportation show in North America, ACT Expo.

“TRC’s deep energy industry expertise, enduring utility relationships, utilization of cutting-edge digital and technology solutions, and unparalleled engineering, regulatory, environmental, and climate consulting capabilities ensures continued growth and support for our shared clients as they navigate the transition toward zero-emission technologies and fuels in the coming decades,” said Sean Turner, GNA’s COO.  

GNA’s core business involves helping commercial fleet operators develop and execute clean fleet strategies to achieve economic and environmental sustainability goals, navigate regulatory requirements, maximize financial benefits through public incentives, low carbon fuel standard (LCFS) credits, and more. GNA also works with truck and vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure developers, and technology and fuel providers to bring advanced transportation and energy solutions to market.

GNA promotes sustainable transportation solutions with marketing, media, and communications services. It also produces educational events and trade shows, including the ACT Expo, which drew nearly 12,000 fleet and transportation executives to the expo in Anaheim this spring.
