Mid-West Truckers Association cancels 2022 Mid-West Truck and Trailer Show
The recent surge in COVID-19 cases due to the omicron variant raised uncertainties for both exhibitors and attendees. The 2023 show has already been rescheduled.
“With the sudden increase in COVID cases and the concern for the health of our members and exhibitors, we have reluctantly made the decision to cancel the Show for 2022,” said Don Schaefer, EVP of the Mid-West Truckers Association.
“Our concern and those expressed by potential attendees and exhibitors means canceling the Truck & Trailer Show is the right decision,” Schaefer said. “We realize the difficulties in producing such an event are compounded due to the recent ‘perfect storm’ of issues brought on by the omicron COVID variant and its effect on staffing capabilities and potential health problems for the most vulnerable. We have seen the devastation this has caused even among our own members.”
The MTA Convention and the Mid-West Truck & Trailer Show attracts thousands of truck operators as well as their families and friends to the Peoria Civic Center and surrounding venues. Next year’s event already has been rescheduled for Feb. 3-4, 2023, in Peoria.
