Battery-electric truck OEM Xos added a new suite of Xos DC fast chargers to its fleet and software solutions package, Xos Energy Solutions. The five new stationary and portable chargers range from 30kW to 300kW and are compatible with commercial and passenger electric vehicles, according to Xos.
Chicago-based Morgan Services, a linen and uniform provider, ordered nine Xos DC fast chargers. Morgan Services is a family-owned company that has been in business for over 130 years. The nine chargers will be installed in Morgan Services locations in Los Angeles, according to the companies.

“Xos continued to gain customer momentum in the quarter with increased deliveries to fleet operators across North America," Xos CEO Dakota Semler said earlier this year. "We now have units deployed with a variety of customers for multiple use cases. We continue to see selective opportunities to take price action in the face of inflationary pressures and strong end-user demand.”
Xos launched new medium- and heavy-duty electric trucks—the MDXT and HDXT—along with an EV-focused fleet management platform earlier this year. The Xos Energy Solutions business provides fleets with EV infrastructure and consulting services, including five new charging solutions. Xos delivered 73 vehicles in the second quarter this year, up from 56 in Q1. During its August earnings report, the OEM projected 150 to 200 unit deliveries in the second half of 2022.
“As we scale deliveries in the second half of this year, we are intently focused on driving to positive gross margin at a unit level by the end of the first half of 2023 by optimizing our operations and structure, engineering cost improvements into our vehicles, and realizing supply chain efficiencies,” Semler said.

The new Xos fast chargers include a 30kW portable EV charger, a 30kW wall-mount EV charger, a 60kW EV charger, a 150kW EV charger, and a 300kW EV charger. Fleet owners and operators can monitor the infrastructure through Xosphere, its fleet management platform.
“The availability, portability, and convenience of the Xos DC fast chargers makes them the perfect solution to fit any electric fleet’s needs,” said Kyle Garvin, Xos Energy Solutions sales director. “We’re committed to providing our fleet customers with the best charging solutions and fleet management tools so they can keep uptime high and continue seeing greater savings on total cost of ownership.”
The Xos DC chargers will be offered as part of Xos Energy Solutions, alongside the Xos Hub mobile charging station and Xos Serve, an on-demand infrastructure-as-a-service platform that includes site evaluations, energy storage development and installation, and energy consulting services.
