Georgia business joins Alliance AutoGas network

Dec. 7, 2012

Georgia fleets have a new option to switch their vehicles to run on propane autogas. Cumberland Gas has joined the Alliance AutoGas network. Cumberland, located in the Georgia coastal region, will be the only certified area provider of Alliance’s vehicle conversion systems, onsite fueling and ongoing safety training and technical support.

“The future of the propane industry is autogas,” said Daniel Minckler, vice president of operations at Cumberland Gas. “Partnering with Alliance AutoGas is a great opportunity to educate the public on the advantages of utilizing this domestic clean fuel in a variety of fleet applications. Propane is one of the most versatile fuels in the world, and autogas is just another way of tapping into propane’s usefulness in the marketplace. Fleet operators are afforded the opportunity to experience substantial fuel cost savings by converting to propane autogas, and we are excited to spread this message.”

Alliance AutoGas guides fleets through every aspect of switching to propane autogas, including vehicle conversions, fueling, onsite fuel station installation, data integration, training and ongoing technical support.

“Cumberland Gas is a welcome addition to the Alliance AutoGas network, as an increasing number of fleets in Georgia are choosing propane autogas,” said Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas and founder of Autogas for America. “Beyond cost savings, autogas plays an essential role in our nation’s energy future because 98 percent of the U.S. supply is made in America. Alliance will continue growing to provide the world’s most widely used alternative fuel to fleets in our own backyard.”
