While diesel prices continued to rise this week, gas prices saw some relief. The national average on-highway diesel price rose 4 cents to $3.753, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) on November 4. Gas prices dropped 2 cents to $3.019. 

What are the current diesel prices across the U.S.?

Here are this week’s diesel price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Midwest: The biggest increase in diesel prices this week occurred in the Midwest, rising 6 cents to $3.773.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, diesel prices rose 3 cents to $3.754.
  • Gulf Coast: Along the Gulf Coast, diesel prices rose 2 cents to $3.374.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, diesel prices rose 1 cent to $4.499. Without including California, diesel prices rose 3 cents to $4.121.
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, diesel prices dropped 1 cent to $3.676.

According to AAA Motor Club (AAA), the current national diesel price average is $3.694. This is 6 cents higher than EIA’s current estimate and 14 cents higher than this time last year.

What are the current gasoline prices across the U.S.?

The current national average on-highway gasoline price is $3.019, according to EIA, 2 cents lower than last week’s average. 

Here are this week’s gasoline price highlights from each region of the U.S.:

  • Gulf Coast: The biggest drop in gasoline prices this week occurred along the Gulf Coast, with a 7-cent decline to $2.511.
  • Midwest: In the Midwest, gas prices dropped 5 cents to $2.828.
  • Rocky Mountain: In the Rockies, gas prices dropped 3 cents to $2.938.
  • West Coast: Along the West Coast, gas prices rose 2 cents to $4.128. Without including California, gas prices dropped 4 cents to $3.791.
  • East Coast: Along the East Coast, gas prices rose 1 cent to $2.917.

According to AAA, the current national gasoline price average is $3.053. This is 3 cents higher than EIA’s current estimate and 5 cents lower than this time last year.

In a recent press release, AAA said, “Gas prices have been cruising this month, as crude oil prices have remained relatively low due to higher supply and lower demand. Heading into November, drivers may see gas prices continue to fall and perhaps stay low over the busy Thanksgiving travel period.”
