The new Silverline Elite EPDM and the original Silverline natural rubber tarp straps will be produced at a Middlefield, OH, facility by Universal Polymer & Rubber, according to Ancra International. Production of the straps will begin on July 1.
Ancra is the worldwide distributor for the Silverline and Goldline brand tarp strap lines. Silverline has previously been a Chinese-made natural rubber product and is popular among vehicles operating in colder climates.
“Ancra will now have a U.S.-made tarp strap to serve virtually any application environment,” said Jim Calico, vice president of business development for Ancra. “No other tarp strap product offering is this comprehensive and no other line of tarp straps is engineered with this level of precision and single-source quality.”
According to Ancra, EPDM-based tarp straps last 5 to 20 times longer than natural rubber tarp straps. The Silverline is made of the highest quality natural rubber and includes UV inhibitors to promote durability, the company said.
“The Silverline Elite EPDM Tarp Strap has all the advantages of EPDM, coupled with U.S. manufacturing quality, all at a very competitive price point,” Ralph Abato, vice president of sales and marketing for Ancra, said. “With Ancra’s global distribution capabilities, a quality EPDM tarp strap is now within anyone’s reach.”
