Mack MP7 and MP8 engines have been certified by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to meet 2008 emissions requirements when idling, allowing Mack customers with compliant engines to bypass state regulations that limit idling to five minutes.

According to the company, CARB allows trucks with engines that emit 30 grams or less per hour of NOx to continue idling after five minutes, while trucks with engines that emit more than 30 grams must stop idling.

Customers will be able to specify “Idle Emission Certification — CARB 08” for Mack MP Series engines built after January 1, including the MP10 engine that will go into production later this year, the company said.

Water Maze has announced the release of the CLPB series washwater treatment system, which the company says is the first to integrate mechanical filtration and bioremediation. The integration does not use chlorine for sanitation, making it safer and more environmentally friendly, and the technologies treat emulsified oils and suspended solids such as clay or silt, the company said. It features a 600-gal. high-density polyethylene tank that is resistant to chemical fatigue and ultraviolet exposure, Water Maze added.
