Mack Trucks inc. has launched the Mack Performance Tour to spotlight its Granite vocational and Pinnacle highway truck models

Mack Trucks inc. has launched the Mack Performance Tour to spotlight its Granite vocational and Pinnacle highway truck models, sending 20 trucks powered by EPA ’07-certified Mack MP7 and MP8 diesels across North America beginning later this month. The OEM said it wants to “spread the news about the outstanding performance and power of these vehicles.” The trucks will visit Mack dealerships in the U.S. and Canada through the end of September.

“Nothing beats a hands-on experience to get customers excited about new products,” said Tom Kelly, Mack vp of marketing. “Customers have told us they really want to see the US ’07 engines and experience their operation so they can get comfortable with the emissions technology. So we are sending these trucks on the road to demonstrate the quality, productivity, reliability and performance of our trucks and new engines.

“Mack customers and potential customers will be able to test-drive these trucks at Mack dealerships during the Tour,” he continued. “Anyone who drives a Granite or Pinnacle will experience the incredible power and torque of our new MP7 and MP8 engines. We expect these thoroughly modern engines to deliver improved fuel economy over the previous generation of Mack engines, especially for our vocational customers,” he added.

The Mack Performance Tour kicked off with a special dealer and customer event in Las Vegas from June 7 to9. From there, the trucks are hitting the road. Mack dealerships will publicize their own events locally. Mack noted it will unveil a special website (www.mackperformancetour.com) in mid-June to update the tour schedule.
