The success of Horton’s QuickShip program is resulting in the expansion of the company’s Britton, SD, facility. Construction of a 20,000-sq.-ft. addition to the plant is expected to be completed in October, the company said.

QuickShip provides fast response for products in Horton’s fast-delivery program. Among the products in the program are remanufactured fan drives, repair and conversion kits, and fans. The program debuted in April to meet small, urgent orders and includes expanded shipping hours and one-day ground delivery to major markets.

The expanded space includes 10,000 sq. ft. for warehousing of finished product, 7,000 sq. ft. for raw-material inventory, and 3,000 sq. ft. for a driver’s lounge and additional shipping bays.

“Expanding our space will allow us to stock more inventory and a more diverse inventory in support of the QuickShip warehouse program,” said Steve Wardleworth, senior vice president, operations. “Getting product to our customers as fast as possible helps to ensure their trucks stay on the road and their off-highway equipment stays in service.”
