Hendrickson Truck Suspension Systems this week announced the expansion of their Steertek front steer axle offerings for International trucks. Steertek is now available in 13,000-lb, 13,200-lb, 14,000-lb and 14,600-lb ratings for International’s ProStar+, LoneStar and TranStar vehicle models. According to the company, the axle’s unique fabricated design can provide substantial weight savings compared to traditional I-beam axles.

Hendrickson also announced that Steertek axles now come with a standard, 10-yr,/1-million mi. limited warranty. The warranty covers Steertek axles equipped on approved vehicles built after Jan. 1, 2010. It begins when the vehicle is put into service and ends in ten years or one million miles, whichever occurs first. Coverage includes the axle beam, steering arm, knuckle assemblies and kingpins when used in Hendrickson-approved applications in the United States and Canada within the proper guidelines.

“Offering a 10-yr./1-million mi. standard limited warranty on Steertek shows our confidence in the durability of the product,” noted Sean Coleman, director of sales and marketing for Hendrickson Truck Systems Group. “This reinforces Hendrickson’s continued commitment to making high quality and durable products.”

Steertek is the platform for Hendrickson’s line of front suspension solutions including Airtek front air suspensions and Softek, an advanced, lightweight front mechanical suspension featuring Monoleaf springs.

Hendrickson Bumper and Trim also announced the availability of the latest Aero Clad bumper for the Freightliner Cascadia. The bumper is designed to offer increased ground clearance and durability in a lightweight, stylish and aerodynamic package. Aero Clad bumpers have already been in use on Freightliner’s FLD, FLD-Classic, Columbia and Century Class S/T models.

Developed by combining the durability of high-strength stainless steel polished to a mirror finish with lightweight aluminum and proprietary manufacturing processes, Hendrickson Aero Clad metal bumpers offer an environmentally friendly alternative to chrome plating, according to the company. With a bright mirror finish that is 10 times thicker than chrome and backed by a standard 5-yr. limited corrosion warranty, the bumpers were designed to resist corrosion, peeling, cracking, pitting and fading, notes Hendrickson.
