“Spirit of the American Trucker” back on tour

Jan. 11, 2013

The “Spirit of the American Trucker” tour truck has returned to the road visiting truck stops and trucking events throughout the U.S. as an outreach program for the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Assn.

The “Spirit” is the official tour truck of OOIDA, and is driven by Jon Osburn of Boise, ID, who’s been an OOIDA member since 1993. The truck tour is sponsored by companies such as Michelin, Rush Truck Centers and 4-State Trucks in Joplin, MO.

“The OOIDA display rig is an important element in our outreach to truckers and the sharing of information on the important issues the Association is working on,” according to Michael Schermoly, OOIDA marketing director.

The trailer is a mobile display and information center for interested truckers to visit and become familiar with the association and its activities in the legislative and regulatory arenas.  Truckers can also join OOIDA at the reduced price of $25 at “spirit” events.

Upcoming Events:

  • Jan 12, T/A Corning, CA I-5 @ Exit 630 (South Ave Exit)
  • Jan 13-14, Petro, Corning, CA I-5 @ South Ave, Exit 630
  • Jan 15-16, T/A Santa Nella, CA I-5 & Hwy 33, Santa Nella Exit
