The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from International Motors, General Motors, and more.

Chevrolet/GMC models’ tailgates may open while driving
General Motors is recalling certain 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500, 3500, and GMC Sierra HD 2500, 3500 vehicles equipped with power-unlatching tailgates. The tailgate's electronic gate-release switch may short circuit due to water intrusion, which can result in the tailgate inadvertently unlatching while the vehicle is in park. An unlatched tailgate may open and result in a loss of unsecured cargo, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 131,231 vehicles. Owners are advised to check that the tailgate is closed and latched before driving. Dealers will replace the exterior touchpad switch assemblies. International Motors HX’s delayed service brake release
International Motors is recalling certain 2022-2025 HX vehicles. The service brake may take longer than expected to release. As such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems." A delayed brake release can increase the risk of crash.
This recall potentially affects 57 vehicles. International will install larger air lines or a quick release valve as necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 13. Owners may contact International customer service at 800-448-7825.
International Motors EMV’s inoperative defrosting system
International Motors is recalling certain 2025 EMV vehicles. A circuit breaker may be missing, causing the defrosting system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems." An inoperative windshield defrosting system may decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 22 vehicles. Dealers will install a 5A circuit breaker and a label. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 25. Owners may contact International customer service at 800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 24518.

Kenworth/Peterbilt models’ insufficient lubricant in front steer drive axle
Paccar is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 537, 2024-2025 Kenworth T380, T480, Peterbilt 548, and 2025 Peterbilt 536 trucks, equipped with certain Meritor 10-16K and 18-23K front steer drive axles. The front steer drive axles may have insufficient wheel bearing lubricant. Insufficient lubrication may cause the wheel hub to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire, or resulting in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 29 vehicles. Dealers will inspect and repair the wheel end with new parts and lubricate the bearings as necessary. Kenworth/Peterbilt models’ loss of steering control
Paccar is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 367, 389, 548, Kenworth T480, T800, 2024-2025 Peterbilt 520, 567, and Kenworth T880 vehicles with PACCAR 20k steer axles. The steering arm and/or tie rod bracket fasteners may fail, resulting in a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 68 vehicles. Dealers will install new correctly torqued fasteners. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 1. Ram models’ loss of ABS from module failure
Chrysler is recalling certain 2017-2018 Ram 2500 Pickup, Ram 3500 Pickup, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The hydraulic control unit may fail, which can cause the anti-lock brake, electronic stability control, and traction control systems to fail. A loss of anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, or traction control can increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 317,630 vehicles. Dealers will replace the brake HCU. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed January 9. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is C4B.
