Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) recently opened a brand new nine-story headquarters building on its corporate campus in North Portland, OR.
The OEM said its new 268,000 sq.-ft. headquarters serves two distinct functions: to merge DTNA employees currently located in offices separated by the Willamette River and to accommodate new positions in Portland that the company anticipates it will need in conjunction with future business growth.
DTNA added that its headquarters project required a $150 million investment, with work beginning in April 2014 to clear the land and construction on the building starting back in July 2014.
Nicole Isle, chief sustainability strategist with Glumac – the design firm that helped craft DTNA’s new facility – noted in a statement that the building’s “Energy Star” score is 99 out of 100; a rating only 1% of corporate buildings in the U.S. can claim.
Other improvements to the company’s headquarters campus include: construction of a new four-story parking garage, equipped with electric vehicle charging stations; a new, landscaped surface parking lot on the corner of N. Channel Avenue and Anchor Street; and the development of a small business shopping center across the street on N. Channel Avenue that will serve a variety of needs, such as a new healthcare center.
