Recall Roundup: New recalls issued for pickup trucks

NHTSA’s latest safety notices feature leaking brake hoses and more.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from General Motors and more.

Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.

GMC Sierra 1500 models’ chrome front grille deflector may detach

General Motors is recalling certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with chrome front grille deflectors. The attachments that hold the front grille deflectors in place may fracture, resulting in grille detachment. A detached front grille deflector may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 70,768 vehicles. The remedy is currently in development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 24. Owners may call GM customer service for GMC at 800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N242490120.

Toyota Tacoma models’ rear brake hose may leak

Toyota is recalling certain 2024-2025 Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles. The rear brake hoses can be damaged if mud and dirt build up inside the rear wheels. This can result in a brake fluid leak. A brake fluid leak can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 106,061 vehicles. Dealers will replace both rear brake hoses. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 24. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service at 800-331-4331. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 25TB04 and 25TA04.
