The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Ford, Bridgestone, and more.

Bridgestone tires manufactured incorrectly
Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) is recalling certain R123 Ecopia tires, size 295/75R22.5, designed for use on commercial trailer vehicles. The tires may have been manufactured incorrectly, with one of the three stabilizer ply belts applied in the wrong orientation. As such, these tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New pneumatic tires - other than passenger cars." Incorrect belt orientation may cause the tires to fail and increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 1,185 vehicles. BATO will replace the tires. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 13. Tire purchasers may contact BATO customer service at 800-847-3272.
BrightDrop vans’ steering may lock up while driving
General Motors is recalling certain 2023-2024 BrightDrop Zevo 600 and 2024 Zevo 400 vehicles. The steering shaft may have been damaged during vehicle assembly, which may have caused the steering to lock up. Steering lockup increases the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 10 vehicles. Dealers will replace the lower intermediate shaft. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 28. GM's number for this recall is N252495400.
Ford F-150 models’ transmission may shift into neutral while driving
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2021 F-150 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-188. The diagnostic trouble code for low transmission fluid pressure may falsely activate and cause the transmission to shift into neutral unexpectedly. An unexpected shift into neutral will cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford F-250, F-350 models’ front windows may fail to reverse direction
Ford is recalling certain 2023 Super Duty F-250 and F-350 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 23V-507. The driver and front passenger windows may fail to detect an obstacle while closing and not reverse direction as intended. A window that does not automatically reverse when an obstruction is encountered increases the risk of injury.

Ford F-250, 350, 450 models’ steering column shifter may detach
Ford is recalling certain 2025 Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles. The steering column shifter may have been improperly welded and may detach from the steering column. A detached shifter will prevent the driver from shifting into park, which can result in a vehicle rollaway and increase the risk of a crash.
This recall potentially affects 11,745 vehicles. Dealers will inspect the steering column serial numbers and replace the steering column as necessary. Ford models’ unexpected vehicle movement
Ford is recalling certain 2024-2025 F-150, Bronco, 2024 Ranger, 2025 Mustang, Explorer, and Aviator vehicles. The transmission valve body may have been machined incorrectly, which can cause reverse gear failure or unexpected forward movement in reverse or neutral gear. Unexpected vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash.

Ford Maverick models’ loss of drive power
Ford is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2023 Maverick vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 24V-267. The body and powertrain control modules may fail to detect a change in the 12-volt battery state of charge. An undetected low battery charge can result in a loss of electrical accessories, such as hazard lights, or cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Transit models’ inoperative HVAC controls
Ford is recalling certain 2022-2023 Transit vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-791. The heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning system's controls, including those for defog and defrost, may become inoperative. Loss of the ability to control the defrost or defog function decreases the driver's visibility under certain driving conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.
