Recall Roundup: Safety recalls for commercial vehicles

April 8, 2025
NHTSA’s latest safety notices feature overheating engines, misaligned engine oil plugs, and more.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently issued recall notices for commercial vehicles, including brands from Bollinger, Ford, and more.

Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted via U.S. mail over the next two months, but fleet and independent owners of these vehicles can contact the NHTSA Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit nhtsa.gov for more details. More information on each recall can be found below.

Bollinger B4 models’ high-voltage battery may short circuit

Bollinger Motors is recalling certain 2025 B4 trucks. The high-voltage battery pack may be improperly sealed and allow liquid to enter the battery. Liquid intrusion into a battery pack can cause a loss of electrical isolation or short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire or shock hazard. In addition, the detection of a battery fault can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 17 vehicles. Bollinger Motors will work with Our Next Energy to inspect and repair the battery packs as necessary. Owners can contact Bollinger Motors at 586-785-7351.

Ford models’ misaligned engine oil plug

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024-2025 F-150, Expedition, and 2024 Lincoln Navigator vehicles equipped with 3.5L GTDI engines. The engine may have a misaligned engine cup plug, which can result in a rapid oil leak. A rapid oil leak can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an oil leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects 4,163 vehicles. Dealers will inspect the engine cup plug alignment, and replace the plug if necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 26. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S30.

Ford models’ incorrect fuse may cause a loss of drive power

Ford is recalling certain 2025 F-150 full-hybrid electric vehicles. The high-voltage battery junction box may contain an incorrect fuse, which can fail and result in a sudden loss of drive power. A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 47 vehicles. Dealers will replace the incorrect 60-amp fuse with a 150-amp fuse. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 14. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S29.

Ford models’ engines may overheat

Ford is recalling certain 2019-2020 Transit Connect vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 20V-636. The powertrain control module software has fail-safe temperature threshold values higher than intended for the engine. This may delay engine cooling and result in engine overheating. An engine that overheats increases the risk of a fire.

This recall potentially affects 152 models. Dealers will update the powertrain control module software. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 28. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S32.

Great Dane models’ tires manufactured incorrectly

Great Dane Trailers is recalling certain 2025-2026 Champion Dry Van trailers equipped with Bridgestone R123 Ecopia tires, size 295/75R22.5. The tires may have been manufactured incorrectly with one of the three stabilizer ply belts applied in the wrong orientation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New pneumatic tires - other than passenger cars." Incorrect belt orientation may cause the tires to fail and increase the risk of a crash.

This recall potentially affects 16 vehicles. Bridgestone (BATO) dealers will replace the tires. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 27. Owners may contact BATO customer service at 800-847-3272 or Great Dane customer service at 877-369-3493.
