The 2025 FleetOwner 500: For-Hire list ranks the most prominent motor carrier and commercial fleet operations in the U.S. by total registered power units. Released in February, the FO500 saw many ranking shifts after a busy 2024 of carrier acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and expansions.
In addition to ranking the largest for-hire fleet operations overall, FleetOwner breaks down these companies into categories based on equipment, cargo types, and industry segments. This media gallery focuses on construction fleets.

Construction fleets transport building materials such as lumber, steel, cement, and more. This can also involve transporting heavy-duty equipment such as cranes and tractors. The timeliness of construction fleets is crucial, as delays can affect the completion of construction projects. Construction fleets use dump trucks, flatbed trucks, and cement trucks, among others.
Compared to 2024, this year’s top for-hire construction fleets are similar to last year’s round-up. The top five fleets remain in the same order, with some variations in overall growth and number of trucks. The last three positions faced massive change, either making big jumps in the rankings or big falls.
