Mack Trucks has launched a virtual Truck Builder platform that allows customers to customize their Mack Anthem, Pinnacle, Granite, LR, LR Electric, MD, or MD Electric truck from the ground up. This new platform replaces Mack’s previous customization technology to enhance the user experience, the company said in a press release.

"Our new Truck Builder isn't just an upgrade—it's a complete reimagining of how customers interact with our products," David Galbraith, Mack Trucks VP of global brand and marketing, said in the release. "We've created an immersive, user-friendly experience that brings the excitement of building a Mack truck to life in new and unprecedented ways."

The new platform allows users to customize their truck, from the wheels to the roof fairings (or lack thereof). The platform offers 3D views of each truck from five different angles of the exterior and a nearly 360-degree view of the interior. Users can customize their truck with multiple exterior color options, interior trim levels, and more. They can pick between powertrains, axles, suspension, and seats.

Currently, the tool focuses on the Mack chassis, and the tool displays generic truck body options. However, a Mack spokesperson told FleetOwner that the OEM has discussed adding a variety of actual truck bodies to the tool and “will continue to consider this and other options in the future.”

After a user has designed their truck, the Truck Builder platform allows users to integrate Mack’s financing options and the Mack Connect fleet performance portal. This integration provides a comprehensive view of the user’s potential Mack truck ownership experience. As users customize their truck, they can view financing solutions, such as loans, leases, and insurance options, specific to the needs of over-the-road and vocational applications.

Users will also have an opportunity to add Mack Connect to their truck customization. The Mack Connect dashboard offers real-time performance data, location tracking, analytics, and diagnostic insights. With Mack Connect, Mack truck owners can track performance and optimize routes to increase efficiency. The platform also highlights Mack's comprehensive warranty protection and service contract options.

When users complete their truck build, Truck Builder connects them with a local Mack dealer who can refine the specifications and bring the customer’s truck to life. Truck Builder also saves configurations, allowing users to revisit and modify their designs.
