Larry Greenberger to retire from Endeavor Business Media

June 29, 2020
Greenberger's role as executive vice president of transportation will be taken on by Reggie Lawrence, former vice president of the FleetOwner and American Trucker brands.

Larry Greenberger, executive vice president of transportation for Endeavor Business Media (EBM), has announced his retirement, effective July 1, 2020. EBM is the parent company of FleetOwner and American Trucker magazines.

Greenberger started in publishing when he accepted a position at The McGraw Hill Companies, with 12 of those years at BusinessWeek magazine as sales director. He also served at Hunter Publishing as group publisher automotive, Chilton Publishing as national sales manager automotive, and VNU Business Media as publisher of DDI magazine before he joined Cygnus as the publisher of Firehouse Magazine

Greenberger returned to automotive as group publisher of the Vehicle Repair Group (VRG). VRG has grown into one of the most profitable groups at EBM, and today Mass Transit is the leading brand for public transit. The editorial team has earned 91 editorial and design awards from various industry organizations over the last six years.

“As the saying goes, find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life,” said Greenberger. “That we help our audience do their jobs better is what brings me happily to work every day. I am leaving a great team. My heartfelt thanks to this group for accomplishing executing our mission for so many consecutive years.”

“Larry told me that he likes working at Endeavor because of the entrepreneurial atmosphere where great ideas quickly become an industry product or offering," said Chris Ferrell, CEO of Endeavor Business Media. "We are grateful for his service and dedication over the years as Cygnus transitioned to SouthComm Business Media, before most recently being acquired by Endeavor Business Media in 2018.

"I have appreciated Larry ever since I first met him in 2014," Ferrell added. "He has always been so passionate about his brands and about his team. Larry has done a great job identifying and developing talent in his group and it showed in their work.”

Reggie Lawrence, who spent many years managing FleetOwner and its related brands, will succeed Greenberger, adding Endeavor’s Transportation brands to his portfolio. “Reggie has brought a lot of good ideas and energy to Endeavor, and we know that he will help us continue to build our brands in the transportation industry,” said Ferrell.
