Highlights trailer lineup, new power booster at MATS

LOUISVILLE, KY. Heavy-haul trailer maker XL Specialized Trailers celebrated their 20th anniversary during the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), launching four new trailers which they showcased in the exhibit area.

“Our company was built on innovation and we pride ourselves in finding new solutions for our customers, so it is very fitting that as we celebrate 20 years in business, we are introducing many new products at the show,” said Steve Fairbanks, President and CEO at XL Specialized Trailers. “We are grateful that we have been able to grow and continue to better serve our customers throughout two decades.”

On display at MATS were several new products with the XL 60 Hydraulic Detachable Mini-Deck Trailer, the XL 80 Flat Deck Extendable Trailer (FDE), XL 110 Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck (HDG), XL 140 Hydraulic Detachable Extendable (HDE), and XL Single Axle Power Booster.

The XL 60 Hydraulic Detachable Mini-Deck Trailer uses an innovative 3-beam design to provide users with ultimate versatility. The trailer features a loaded deck height of 12 inches with 4 inches of ground clearance and an empty weight that easily allows scaling to maximum payload.

The XL 80 FDE is the newest addition to XL Specialized Trailers line of commercial extendable trailers and features Extend-A-Trac technology to extend and retract the deck without hooking and unhooking air and electrical lines.

The XL 110 Low-Profile HDG is a versatile option for hauling construction equipment. The trailer features an 18-inch loaded deck height and 6-inch ground clearance, allowing operators to meet bridge clearance laws without needing a drop-side or beam deck.

The XL 140 HDE was built specifically for operators hauling extremely diverse loads. The 13-axle trailer is rated at 140,000 pounds capacity overall, and can handle large machinery or commercial freight of all sizes.

The company also introduced their next generation XL Single Axle Power Booster, designed specifically for a one-axle application booster with a lighter weight of around 2,750 pounds, as well as additional operator-friendly features. It is attached to the rear of a lowboy trailer with a 14-foot, one-inch spread between the trailer’s last axle and the booster’s axle.
