Diesel dips another couple of cents, below $3 in much of U.S.

For the second week in a row, diesel prices across the U.S have slipped, according to data tracked by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The EIA said the average U.S. retail pump price for diesel was down 2.5 cents in the June 8 report, to $2.884 per gallon. That’s $1.01 per gallon cheaper compared to the same week in 2014.
Diesel prices decreased in every region, falling 5.4 cents to $3.001 on the West Coast not including California, and 3.2 cents to $3.217 in the Golden State.
The price of a gallon of diesel dipped 3 cents in the Midwest, falling to $2.774 for the lowest regional cost, just edging the Gulf Coast where the price fell 1.6 cents $2.783.
Other than the West Coast, only the East Coast is still above the $3 mark, at $3.122 (-2.1 cents) in the Central Atlantic region and $3.076 (-1.6 cents) in New England.
