DALLAS. GCR Tires & Service (GCR), a division of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, showcased an array its products and services at the Great American Trucking Show here. For the second year in a row, the company educated GATS attendees on the importance of tire maintenance while demonstrating technology designed to increase uptime and improve safety.

The company’s new Tire Assessment is one of the many ways GCR delivers on its commitment to provide ongoing education and services that promote proper tire care and maintenance, according to the company.

As part of the innovative GCR Tire Assessment, the company’s Tire Industry Association-trained technicians perform a thorough check at each wheel position  for tell-tale signs of tire health, such as:

  • Incorrect inflation pressure
  • Irregular wear
  • Mismatched tread depths
  • Cuts
  • Cracks
  • Bulges; and
  • Penetrations.

GCR technicians then interpret the data obtained during the Tire Assessment in order to provide consistent, safety-focused preventive service recommendations that customers need to avoid downtime, as well as expensive and unexpected repairs while also driving bottom-line savings by improving fuel efficiency.

“The GCR Tire Assessment is an innovative solution that is delivering real improvements in the safety and efficiency of our customers’ businesses,” said John Vasuta, president, GCR Tires & Service. “We work hard to deliver dependable, best-in-class service and develop innovative solutions that allow drivers to make informed decisions on the road. We look forward to showing GATS attendees how the Tire Assessment and other GCR service offerings are uniquely designed to meet their needs.”
