The boost in sales that Class 8 OEMs have been enjoying though the first half of the year appears to be rubbing off on trailer makers as well. Great Dane Trailers announced its plan to add 100 new manufacturing jobs at its plant in Brazil, IN.
The trailer maker says increased demand has upped its output goal for the plant to 250 trailers per week. Currently the plant employs 1,185 workers.
“Trailer orders are strong, especially in the dry van product line,” said Bernie Buttram, plant manager at the Brazil facility. “In manufacturing, and particularly in the trailer business, employees are our greatest asset so we are confident in adding to our workforce at this time.”
Tomorrow on August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the company will conduct a job fair at its plant to recruit entry-level plant positions and welders. It is located three miles east of Brazil on U.S. route 40.
