IMPCO Technologies, a California-based alternative fuel systems component supplier for internal combustion engines and other power sources, has signed Detroit Diesel Allison Australia (DDAA) a partner to distribute dressed engines from IMPCO’s Michigan-based Engine System Division. Robert Stemmler, chairman & CEO of IMPCO, said Australia and the Pacific Rim represent a dynamic region with tremendous market potential for power products that operate with alternative gaseous fuels. IMPCO’s deal with DDAA is "fundamental to IMPCO’s creation of a new engine systems global distribution network that permits IMPCO and its distribution partners to better serve OEM customers," he said.

Stemmler added that the Australian industrial and mining engine markets represent $10 million worth of annual engine business and that alternative-fuel engines are favorable because of fuel cost economics and a significant reduction in harmful emissions versus liquid fuels.
