BALTIMORE – Spokane Computer Inc. unveiled a new software program for the truck equipment industry during this week’s National Truck Equipment Association’s convention and T3 Expo in Baltimore.

Called TEQuote, the program is designed to help truck-equipment makers standardize bid response formats, helping to eliminate costly errors while decreasing bid-response times.

The Windows-based systems, which costs $695 per single user, creates templates for vehicle bids that automatically set up a series of unbreakable rules for each equipment type. For example, if a bid response is requested on utility bodies for an F-250 Ford truck, the program will only allow utility bodies that fit that exact vehicle to be selected.

The system also ensures that updated parts and accessories lists are available for each vehicle electronically, so no manual checking is needed. TEQuote can also convert a bid into an open job order and plug it into a company’s accounting system. Spokane estimates that cutting out human errors caused by choosing the wrong bodies and parts can save a company in the truck-equipment business $15,000 to $25,000 a year.
