The national average price for a gallon of diesel is back on the upswing, rising 2.8 cents to $2.918 for the week ending June 11. This marks the second consecutive week of price increases, up 3.6 cents from the $2.882 posted for the week ending May 28.

The largest price jump was posted in the Gulf Coast region, where prices headed north 4.3 cents to $2.848. In spite of the increase, that region posted the lowest prices in the U.S.

Not all regions saw a price hike and California and the West Coast regions tied for the largest price decline, down one penny to $3.217 and $3.149, respectively. California is once again the most expensive region in which to buy diesel.
