Gunite Corp. has recently introduced the LMS wheel hubs, which are preassembled in the company's Rockford, Ill., plant to reduce the chance of premature bearing failure.

Gunite said traditional field installations of wheel hub bearings can lead to over- or under-torquing of the assembly; this can lead to premature seal failure, affecting both brake component and wheel bearing life. Because Gunite preassembles its LMS hubs in a factory-controlled environment, the seals are protected from under- or over-torquing damage - greatly reducing the potential for problems with leaking wheel seals.

Gunite's LMS hubs are cast from durable ductile iron for extra longevity, which is why the company said it backs up these hubs with a 3-yr./350,000-mi. warranty.
