Safety and convenience have crossed the borders into Mexico and Latin America as a new fuel card program has been launched by TransCard.
The TransCard fuel card will be accepted at more than 2,200 locations in Mexico and Latin America, allowing fleets the opportunity to receive real-time fuel pricing, electronic authorizations and fraud protection. The big bonus, according to TransCard, is the ability of the card to provide multi-currency charges for corporate fuel purchases.
"This network will transform how Mexican fleets handle fuel purchasing," said Craig Fuller, CEO of TransCard and the son of US Xpress CEO Max Fuller. "Our research has identified that fraud occurs in 6 to 9 percent of fuel transactions in Mexico and in some cases is responsible for 30 percent of fuel spending; our platform will mitigate fraud occurrences and sync pricing across Mexico and Latin America. It is going to completely change the way fleets buy and manage their fuel spending in this part of the world."
According to TransCard, this card was created with the cooperation of fuel truck stops in Mexico along with a number of fleets that identified fraud as a key concern. The card will also offer another safety component. Fleets can pay their drivers through the prepaid card, providing a safe and secure method for drivers who no longer will have to carry large amounts of cash, the company said.
"TransCard is moving forward in prepaid with product offerings that are unmatched," said Jerry Uffner, TransCard's President. "Our willingness to explore clients' and consumers' needs and our drive to then meet these needs via comprehensive, robust product lines, differentiates TransCard from other companies in the same space. The technological innovations we continue to develop and then the application of these innovations to achieve product goals makes us unique, keeps us far ahead of the curve and demonstrates our passion for this business. We remain committed to delivering unique, exciting products that you won't find anywhere else."
