UPS has placed an order for 475 Mack Pinnacle trucks with MP engines, Mack Trucks has announced. “We are very pleased that UPS decided to choose Mack and continue the long partnership between our two great companies,” said Michael D. McNally, vp – sales for Mack Trucks, Inc.
“Our Pinnacle model combines the power and durability that Mack is known for, with the performance and fuel economy that customers like UPS require,” he added.
Production will start early this month at Mack’s Macungie Assembly Operations plant near Allentown, PA. The trucks will be delivered before the end of the year, Mack said.
The Pinnacle Series is available in axle back or axle forward configurations and is powered by the Mack MP engine, which features the OEM’s ClearTech selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology. The vehicles offer near-zero emissions and up to a 5% fuel efficiency improvement over EPA 2007 engines, according to Mack.
