ATRI on the Air, the American Transportation Research Institute’s (ATRI) radio program that is a part of The Dave Nemo Show, celebrated its fifth year on the air last week. The program first aired in May 2006 on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s Road Dog channel. Then as now, the program highlights the approach and findings of different ATRI research initiatives, as well as how those findings impact truck drivers and motor carrier operations.

The fifth-anniversary program featured ATRI president, Rebecca Brewster, discussing ATRI’s Freight Bottleneck Analysis, which highlights some of the worst places for truckers to get stuck in rush hour traffic. Gary Langston, president & CEO of the Indiana Motor Truck Assn. was also a speaker.

“ATRI brings vital information and insight about the challenges facing our industry to our listeners,” veteran broadcaster Dave Nemo said, “making it possible to better understand issues and trends and to actually participate in ATRI's research projects. ATRI on the Air is one of our most important program segments.”

“Our partnership with Dave Nemo has been a critical feature of our success as an organization,” observed Brewster. “Through ATRI on the Air, we’ve been able to solicit driver input on current studies and generated new research ideas from the ultimate consumers of our research, the nation’s professional drivers.”

The show airs every other Thursday at 8:06 a.m. Central Time on Sirius XM Channel 106. The June 9 program will cover the impact of drivers on fuel economy.
