Sprint Nextel has become the first major external contributor to the Open Road Foundation, a non-profit organization launched last month that provides victim assistance and supports educational and career development programs for Fenway Partners’ employees and independent contractors.
Fenway Partners and Sprint, through its business solutions provider Corporate Communications Group, have signed a three-year master services agreement for wireless and wireless services. Through the strategic partnership, Sprint will tailor its services to the transportation industry, creating custom web portals for each Fenway portfolio company to allow employees and contractors to access Sprint’s wireless technology and manage telecommunications online.
“We are incredibly grateful for Sprint’s generosity in this venture and are delighted to be able to deepen our supplier relationship with them as well,” said Bill Webb, president of The Open Road Foundation and an operating executive at Fenway Partners. “We’re excited that they share our enthusiasm for this unique organization, which we believe will greatly benefit our transportation and logistics companies, their employees and professional independent contractor drivers, their families, and the communities in which they operate.”
